Some Fine Print
In the interests of full disclosure, there are some terms you are asked to agree to when registering. Ultimately, they are in place to serve the best interests of your loved cats, and allow me to provide a quality service to everyone.
I have a service agreement that is easy to sign when you register. You can read that here now if you like, or later when registering.
To prevent no-shows and last minute cancellations, a credit card is securely held on file when you book. Nothing is charged to it unless you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment, in which case a $55 fee applies.
Clients who are newly registered who don't make an appointment within the first 3 months of registering may be deregistered.
I ask to see all cats at least twice a year. This ultimately allows my existing clients to book with me more easily, as once-a-year grooms during peak times can greatly impact waiting times.
I'm unable to groom 7% of the cats I meet for the first time. If you are in this position I only charge for work that has been done (often none at all) and I will take roughly half an hour to make a thorough assessment and give you advice on how to best care for your cat. That may include recommending a vet visit, a drug called gabapentin or something else.
I only perform a bad mat or pelt removal shaving once - one episode, which may take more than one session to complete. I don't judge the condition of a cat's coat, especially for new clients, but I do not see cats for shaving-only when the problem is too far gone. This is to ensure I don't enable outcomes that are not in the best interests of the health and welfare of cats. Compacted coats are an example of a coat being left too long between grooms.
Reschedules and cancellations are free up to 48 hours before your appointment. Within 48 hours, the $55 fee applies.
We may use images of your cat on this website, our social media pages or our YouTube channel (The Cat Groomer Guy). If you choose to not participate, please let me know, and if an image of your cat is posted I will be happy to remove it should you choose.
Pricing is tier-based by frequency. Tier 1 (Platinum): $200 for cats seen within 5 weeks of their last visit, Tier 2 (Gold): $230 for 1 to 3 months between visits, and Tier 3 (Standard): $250 for more than 3 months between visits. Multi-cat households booking 2+ cats into the same appointment receive 10% off each cat's tier rate. Matted or compacted coats may incur additional charges. For the service cost to be above $300, the matting would have to be very bad. Short-haired breeds and grooms without shaving typically run $20 below the tier rate.
Cats are only groomed if fit and healthy. Grooming an elderly or matted cat is at the owner's risk and may expose pre-existing health or skin conditions, for which Purrf Cat Grooming cannot be held liable. In an emergency, in your absence, you authorise me to contact a veterinarian and authorise treatment at your expense.
I work with another groomer most days. Multiple cats in my salon at the same time are always kept safe, comfortable and separated - this keeps them calmer through rest periods and passive grooming.
I review prices annually, typically in line with CPI and inflation, and I'll always communicate changes in advance.
